Do you understand forgiveness?

Pursuit Of Light An Extraordinary Journey by Sandy Brewer

 Inspirational Thought

Do you understand what forgiveness is?  It isn’t looking at yourself or anyone else and saying, “You’re a miserable excuse for a human being, and I forgive you anyway.”  Forgiveness is about letting go in peace.  It’s turning toward the part of you that probably did screw up and having compassion for your mistakes and for whomever it is you were when you made them.  It’s not about abdicating responsibility.  But at some point in time, you have to let go of the self judgment–the part of  you that has been operating as a relentless tyrant–you have to let it go.

Ultimately, forgiveness is about understanding that from a spiritual point of view, there’s nothing to forgive.

Kind and Loving Regards, Sandy Brewer

    Hi Sandy,

Thank you for the post about your book. I can’t wait to pick it up and read it. I am in a place of understanding my childhood and forgiving not only my family but also myself. What a great time we live in right now. There are so many opportunities for healing and growth. I am so glad I am living my path of Love, Ligtht and Joy. Each day is a day of growth and gratitude. A wonderful book was referred to me by a friend. It’s called A Place To Belong, by first-time author Paul Miller. It’s a fiction based on fact story about a little boy who grows up in a horrendous place and time. It’s a memoir about his life and how he comes after 50 years to a place of forgiveness and understanding. I’m recommending it to friends who are doing their own healing work as well. I will definitely refer your book on to them as well.

I’m so glad to have found your site.

    Mary :>)
